You are standing inside a train. The train stops at a station, it is raining outside and a guy gets in with his bicycle. Now, you are actually standing on a spot which is meant for bicycles to be parked inside the train. This guys pushes his cycle into the spot, the wheel brushes against your trousers. You do get annoyed because it is a wet tyre against your trousers and the guy does not even bother to apologise. He could have asked you to move a bit but he did not even do that. Under these circumstances, can I call you wrong if you thought that the guy did not bother to apologise because you were dark-skinned?<br /><br />This happened today as described above, except that the person in question was a white woman. People say that in Europe, the white people do not wish to sit near you in a train or a bus because you are not white. That is not true, because most of the time you see that in buses or trains, people try their best not to sit next to another person. They are just not used to sitting so close to others.<br /><br />I wrote my first blog entry today because I understood something today. A bit of understanding goes a long way.
